Are you passionate about user research?
Are you looking for positive shifts at work?
Are you interested in contributing towards meaningful change in the world?
Are you open to self-reflection?
Do you prefer telling human stories over compiling a list a set of key insights?
Do you need your voice to be heard so that your customer or user voice can be heard and listened to?
Would it be useful to revisit research methodologies and techniques to create your own personalised framework?
Are you curious about trying on fresh perspectives?
If this strikes a chord and you have a desire to unleash the most awesome research practitioner that is inside of you, then book this two day awesome researcher masterclass. This masterclass is for 12 guests.
Date and time
Thursday 5th December and Friday 6th December.
The timings for each day will be 9.30am to 4pm.
My two day masterclass provides you with fresh perspectives on user research. If user research forms part of what you do, and it matters to you, come and be curious. I invite you to take a journey of self-discovery and to explore the relationship between you, you being a user researcher, and you doing user research. We will also work with the role of inspiration in research.
By end of this class, you will have explored:
-What draws you to research, and reflected upon what that means for your practice
-Your storytelling style
-How to get comfortable with facilitating
-What creativity looks like in your research practice
-What collaboration looks like in your research practice
-Designing your own research framework
-Listening, empathy and communication needs across all areas of your research practice
Day 1 – We will start with getting to know each other and some self-reflection in the morning. We’ll practice core communication and research skills to warm up, and then in the afternoon we’ll do some mapping and colour work to understand what typically happens across the lifecycle of a research project. That work will lay a foundation for your research framework.
Day 2 – In the morning, we’ll explore external and internal resources you can draw upon for creative ideas to experiment with. We’ll do some research and facilitation practice and in the afternoon you will design your research framework and your vision for being an awesome researcher. We will finish with self-reflection work.
We will discuss what wellbeing means for us individually and as a group, and this will help guide how we will be mindful for ourselves and each other, much like a team charter or values for the duration of the class. I will invite you do breath work as part of the class, and together we will be aware of times where the energy is low and we need to pause or change pace.
Who should attend?
Anyone already involved in user research and wants to take it to the next level, and also be guided by the questions above to understand if this is for you right now.
